I always like to make my son and hubby a spaecial card at Christmas but as the years have gone by and my son has got older, now 16 I am finding it harder. He no longer appreciates the cute cards, or ones with Santa on, he isn't into Manga type cartoons or games or gaming cards as so many of his friends are, he would rather save his money and but big expensive or small and more expensive electronic gadgets. I found this fab image that I might add is a freebie on Dude time challenges. I knew as soon as I saw it what I was going to do for his christmas card. He loves 80's music and especially, the songs form the Top Gun film which he bought himself on dvd and watches that often could take the part of any of the cast as he knows the script word for word. He also likes which gives my hubby an excuse to indulge heavy rock ACDC in particular, it's wonderful blaring through the house at 6:30 in a morning, all you can hear up stairs is thud, thud ,thud and the 2 of them once my son gets up is singing along , a little off key. Thank heavens we live in a detatched house and have a big gap between houses, is all I can say.
So now you have the explanation, the colours are my sons favourites he loves turquoise, he had a pair of turquoiise trousers a couple of years ago and when he started to look like sport billy as they were half way up his calfs I had to make them into shorts and we had to go hunting for some more fabric to make another pair. Most of his other trousers are navy or black but if these are clean he will wear his turquoise ones, not so much in winter as they are a bit light weight. I just wish he would stop growing then I won't have to look for more when these start to look daft from being too short again.
The papers are from DCWV roskstar stack that the last time son was craft shopping with me he picked as he loved the papers but as yet I hadn't used them as I hadn't found an appropriate image, have now though. I added confetti snowflakes for a more christmassy feel. The image I coloure with promarkers and sakura glaze pens. I added stickles and more smaller confetti snowflakes. I mounted on some ancient turquoise mirri card that I have had so long I have no idea where it came from , wish I did as I love it and am now down to just a couple of sheets. The ribbon is from my stash and the charm I got from the garden centre in the summer.
Oops for got to say the recycling bit, the sentiment 'Rocks' I cut from the front of the paper stack, well it just seem to fit just right.
Think thats everything. I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:-
