Two more purple girls-sorry I mean one

I think I might be getting there and nearly at the end of the mammoth load of cards , I'm trying to schedule some so they aren't all like buses arriving at once but it doesn't always work out like that.

These two were both for girls called Sarah who apparently look very alike and are quite inseparable. My son is friends with them both though from what I gather one is much more talkative and accepting of him than the other as he says she shys away when he speaks to her.

I again used the fly away sassy girl for both cards and was again requested to colour in purple it seems to be such a popular colour with his friends. The images are both coloured with Promarkers but I did try to make the cards very different from one another more for my sake than anyone elses.

I have just realised I can only show you one of these 2 cards as I have let my son write on it and take it to school without actually taking a piccy or two of it , never mind I will just show you the one I did remember to take piccies of.

I sinned again and used peel offs but they make such an elegant border, the back ground I de-bossed using a fiskars board and ball tool all swirls, great fun when you have to do it by feel as you can't see through the card and as it's a thick plastic board a light table doesn't help.I kept it simple cutting around the image and just added flowers in the corner.

Another of my son's requests so same image I think he must fancy this sassy girls looks either that or they are all sassy girls he is sending these cards to.

This one had to be bright green so again I coloured with my Promarkers and sakura glaze for the eyes and the bird cage and the girls buttons and shoe bows. The papers are magazine freebies and I think docrafts from Daisy and Dandilion set. The flowers and button are from my stash as are the ribbons which I used to attatch the button as well as strips down the card.

This one is still green but for a boy, for this I used a sassy image and this had to be dark green. The papers are all basic grey I think and the image is coloured with promarkers. I added a couple of card craft candies for added interest as a finishing touch and a good luck peel off. I know peel-offs are suppose to be sacrilege but sometimes they do the job so who cares and as far as I am concerned my son was happy with the card and that to me really was all that mattered.

For a girl going overseas

Hi all more cards for my son , I think I've got them all made and now I will try and post them all, not decided yet whether to do one mamouth post or lots of small ones. Knowing how I can get in a muddle at the best of time maybe smaller ones would be a safer bet so the next few won't hopefully have as much waffle as this one has .

This card is for another of my son's friends leaving 6th upper this year and also has a scholarship to the States though can't remeber what the scholarship is in or where abouts in the States either. Have to say I think these young people have some spunk, I thought I was brave going to nursing school and anyone who goes to university is doing well but in another country  is well spunky if you ask me, oh to be young and fearless once more?

My son really liked this LOTV image and wanted to give his friends lots of luck for travelling abroad etc so I got to use this cutie again, I think it is going to be one well used image.

I wanted to make it look girly this time so went for some flowery papers and matched with another paper from the same set both from my scraps and so not 100% sure they are papermania.
I added more flowers and wanted some bling so added bronze mirricard and bronze 1/2 pearls for flower centres too. The LOTV sentiment is so perfect for this card , well for anyone off in search of their dreams so that was the finishing touch.
The image I coloured the cats in Promarkers and the horseshoe in a mix of Sakura glaze pens and Promarker and I love how it turned out.

Hiya Blondie

Well actually more bye Blondie but never mind, amazing how just changing hair and eye colour can make an image look different. I'm sure by now yoyu are all gettiong bored of similar purple cards as am I but the image is cute so . Again coloured with sakuras glaze pens nd Promarkers and this time I decided to emboss some velum for a change using a fiskars board but at least its different, well they can't all have the same card can they. The papers are again I think papermania but are from my scraps and the original paper block cover is long gone so not really sure of the brand. The mirri card is from my stash and te daisy ribbon I think came from hobbycraft many moons ago too. Originally I was going to add glittered paper lace strips but got a bit impatient waiting for the glue to dry and ended up wiping off half the glitter so that will have to wait for another card when I've reglued and glittered now.

This one's for a boy

Hi all another for my son and now he has added 2 more to the list. This one is for one of his friends who is leaving to go to college in Alabama USA, on a soccar scholarship, it seems odd saying soccer when we call it football but hey ho.
I used this LOTV stamp that my son chose though as I only ordered it at the end of last week with the bank holiday weekend I didn't think it would arrive in time so when it dropped through the letter box on Saturday I was happily surprised as was my son. I decided I needed a change from purple as still have more purples to do, I never realised it was such a teenage girl colour.

I used a mix of papermania papers and some embossed papers from costco I have had ages. The ribbon is from my stash. The image I coloured using silver glitter and pewter glaze pens from sakura and promarkers warm greys 4 and 5. with cool grey 4 and 5 for the ground. The button is actually from a button box my gran gave me years ago and was originally from a coat sleeve a definite change from it's original use.

I decided to have a go at one of these triangular easel cards not sure I'm fussed about the design though but you never know it might grow on me. The sentiment is again from LOTV and I thought it apt as Brad is off to follow his dreams and I wish him well going so far from home. Hope he likes his card. I did suggest to my son that although they intend keeping in touch electronically he ought to get Brad's postal address as I'm sure he would like to receive actual post too it's somehow a bit more meaningful than an email, but maybe I'm old fashioned but surprisingly my son agreed.

To be a bookworm

Morning all and hope the sun is still shining down on you though we could all do with it raining overnight for a couple of nights I'm sure, but as it's the bank holiday weekend if we are to get rain I'm sure this weekend is when it will put in an appearance.

Another card for my son to give out this one uses sassy girl bookworm from set 6 and again it had to be purple. I normally steer towards blues and purles but as I have 4  purple cards or is it 3 , sorry to say I'm confussed is a bit of an understatement I can't keep pace with all these girly cards , anyway I might have to do some other colours soon!

This image is again coloured with my Promarkers and sakura glaze pens and this time I really wanted to keep it plain and simple and the fab layout from willow sketches allowed for the image to stay the focus. The lace is by basic grey though I recoloured the back in purple to keep in with the colours. The roses are from my stash and the ribbon flowers beneath I made a while ago. The sentiment is from a set by the darkroom which I stamped direct to the card in purple dye ink.

Another Sunday and another OSAAT challenge

Apologies  to all my teamies for this being late, I did schedule it as my parents were over for lunch and didn't leave till late so I didn't check Mr Blogger had done as he should, so slapped hands for both of us.


Wow what fab fathers day card and sporty cards you all made. Another week another and another fab challenge and one I'm sure we will have loads of entries for EMBOSSING, and time any kind wet powder or dry.

This time round I was given my chioce from the wonderful  Angels at Toucan crafts and I chose  kicking leaves digital scrapbooking kit which you can find here. I had such fun with all the different elements in this kit I made 2 projects. The first I ussed this cute young boy playing in leaves which I embossed using versamark pen and clear embossing powder for extra shine. The papers in this kit also have the appearance of being embossed with a ribbled effect.

I used the same technique on the buttons that came in the kit, I must admit it felt as if I was cheating as the images were already coloured, but all the colours work so well together. I again embossed with versamark and clear embossing powder and poked holes in the buttons. I thought they looked quite effective especially when you put some together.

The card I made I thought would make a fab retirement card and to keep in with the whole theme I deided to print the journal page in the kit for the inside of the card, to keep in with the older feel of the card.

I just love the details of the watermark like effect of the leaves. The overall finished card looks like this, but have to say I haven't added a sentiment as although I had initially decide on a retirement card it would really do for a mans birthday card too afterall all men no matter what age are little boys at heart.

My second project is an index file, (said there would be more) I have been indexing all the stamps and images I have in hope that I will use all my stamps more regularly, plus if someone wants something specific I'll beable to show them the images I have for them to choose from. This was perfect for this index as I have animals and flora in it. I used another image fromt the same set and the journalling label and some of the brads and more buttons again from the set which I again embossed as before.

Another card for my son's friends who leave 6th form in a couple of weeks only another 4 to go. This one a change had to be pink based with red hair but not ginger, hope I got the colouring right.I was asked to used Rapunzal from set 6 sassy girl set for this one which you can find at funky kits, along with many other wonderful stamps.

I as usual coloured with Promarkers and sakura glaze pens. The papers are from my scraps folders and I think both are K and co papers. The ribbon is from my stash and the sentiment I made into a tag is LOTV mounted on pink paper. Again clean and simple but I think it looks fresh like the spring days we are having of late.

Some of my son's friends will be leaving school wel 6th form in the next few weeks and he will be sorry to see them go but wishes them all well , he asked if I would make him some cards to send them on thier way with his good wishes. It originally started at a couple but this keeps growing, so you may see more in thew next wek or so.

He has chosen the images he would like including at least one I have had to order , hope it arrives in time. This is the first of a couple he has asked for with this sassy girl. The colours are to match with his friends colouring and as the leavers all seem to have bought commemorative hoodies in colours of their choice the first cards he wanted in purple which was the colour choice of the hoodies some of his friends bought, but the cards all have to be different. No pressure or challenge there then from him.

I coloured my image with Promarkers and used Sakura glaze pens for the eye pupils. The papers are all from my scraps folder and each I edged with purple promarker just to tie it all together. The gems and pearls are from my stash as is the ribbon. The tag will be where I put the sentiment though as yet my son hasn't decided what sentiment to put, miss you, good luck or something else but thats where it will go.

A card for a special grandma

Hope today finds you all fit and well and for those in the UK looking forward to another long weekend. I seem to be in a patriotic mood  again with the colours this card but this one was at the request of my son. It's his Grandmas birthday in a few days so he's chosen which image he wants and all I have to do is make it, I've not shown him yet but I'm hoping fingers crossed he approves. He's not into girly cards so when he chose a girl for his card I was a little surprised but I think he's beginning to understand what girls like, could this be worrying for me now he's just turned 17, ....not sure, I don't think I'll think about that right now plenty of time to worry later.

Anyway my card I was amazed at how many challenges it actually fits, which is always a nice surprise when you make a card and then look for challenges, well I think so anyway. I stamped the butterflies straight onto the card in ultramarine ink and then added the red stitched ribbon. The card I used for the base of my image and the cc design wee girl from the spring sugarplums last year is the base of a bought card as I like the linen effect. The base is mounted on red mirri card and both layers I distressed, I still don't like doing this but it fit with the chintz shabby look I'd decided to go with. I then edged with the ultramarine ink again. The swing is also from the same sugar plum set and I was brave and stamped it directly onto my card over the base layer and paper pieced the branch and the seat, just for a different look. The girl I coloured with promarkers and added a wee gem for a bit of bling to her top and used sakura glitter pen to sparkle up her socks.

I then finished with a lotv sentiment again stamped in ultramarine and distressed and 2 ribbon flowers I made sewn together and stuck on with sticky square.

OOps I'm late

Sorry all I'm a little bit late with this post, good job I'd already made my card.

It's another biweekly challenge time over at Penny's and this time you will be putting your thinking caps on as we have a challenge entitled 'Welcome Home'. Now our wonderful and talented leader dreamt up this theme when thinking of the anticipation of her darling hubby returning from Afghanistan, can't blame her one little iota for having his return on her mind don't know how she does it when he's away. I have to say not having a hubby to welcome home after being away made me wonder what I would do, I thought about welcoming a new baby home but it's not really the baby but the mum you are welcoming home as you are just welcoming the baby to the world. Then I thought about new home like many of my teamies but wasn't sure about that either but I thought how it was lovely to be welcomed home from the hospital after my recent surgery by my son and how when my parents and in laws have been abroad and they return how we welcome them home. It could be a student who has been away at university or as my son was talking about some friends he is looking forward to seeing over the summer who have been on scholarships in the USA. Loads of interpretation can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

My card I used a Meljen image as I thought this would be a nice way to be welcomed home kisses and flowers. I used magazine freebie papers that I found when having a move around of my craft room. The image is coloured with promarkers and the buttons are from a set by and can be found here at stitchy stamps. I simply printed them and triple embossed them with clear embossing powder. The flowers are from my stash. The tag is sprayed with moonglow spritz from the stampman and hand written using a blue sakura pen.

Any excuse is good for a party and this sassy girl Bella from Sugar Nellie by the wonderful and very talented Krista Smith is getting ready to party maybe a street party as part of the wedding breakfast on Friday, her invite must still be in the post along with mine, I do love a good wedding don't you.

I decided to go with the patriotic colour theme just for a change and then found some challenges that it will match so was meant to be. The layout I love clean and simple though I'm sure many with dress it up to look wonderful but I'm hopeless at that most of the time and I do like clean lines.

The papers I think are papermania but not 100% sure as have had them like forever and the mirri card is from my stash. The buttons are my fun bit with white ribbons attached with red ribbon just for fun.

Well friday wasn't only Good friday but it was earth day too and this time at Creative craft challenges we are sort of doing our bit as our challenge is recycle. Thinking caps on and time to reuse and save some energy for our planet.

I decided that I would dress up some recycling, I'm sure we all do it without thinking, pop a plant in a tub that use to hold food. I recently had a move and sort out of my craft stash and found some alcohol inks I'd forgotten about and decided to dress a couple of pots for my plants.

The first was a mascapone cheese tub, I used a scouring soap pad to remove the writing and had a play with the alcohol inks, I then did the same thing with a steamed pudding tub think this one had a christmas pud in it but love how they turned out.

Good afternoon one and all and hope it's a great Monday for everyone even those who aren't off for the end of the Easter weekend and are at work skiving by checking out blog land.

The card I have to share today is a commissioned card for a granddaughter, the young lady in question I think is 19 or 20 not sure which so hope she likes this. Her grandmother normally gets her one of my cards but last year they were away on holiday and she bought one to send and it didn't go down well at all. The lady commented how funny she thought that was, as none of the girls' family ever send cards for the rest of the family birthdays but then feel put out if they don't receive nice cards when its their birthdays.

I decided to have a play with my Sassy girls, I did think I'd have my new ones to play with as I ordered them a week last Saturday but as yet they haven't arrived, so tomorrow I will contact the house of sugar just to make sure they haven't got lost along the way. I coloured my wee girl in promarkers and used sakura glaze pens for her eyes and glitter decorations on her dress and socks for extra sparkle. The papers are scraps I'm trying to use up and I think the check is forever friends and the dotty pearls one is from Costco.

The flowers are from my stash as is the ribbon and the pins I made.

The background inside the card is stamped lace using a stampman stamp as is the 'granddaughter' and both were stamped using brilliance twilight ink and embossed with holographic powder.

Happy Easter one and all and I hope the Easter Bunny has been good to you all but if he has brought you loads of chocolate no making yourself sick on it.lol.

 Well Sunday brings a new challenge over at OSAAT and this time we are showcasing the fathers day/sports collab which can be purchased here for $50 or is free with purchases over $10 or more, bargain if you ask me.

This time round I was given a cheerleader to play with by the talented Sue from Beary dust you can get her here .


I decided to print her straight onto my card and stick with a red black and white theme. Took me ages to decide how to make her in to a fathers day card, as cheerleading isn't that big here in the UK and was unheard of when I was at school so please forgive me if my sentiment is all wrong and far too English. I wrote my words on word using Wordart and then printed the insert too.

The image is coloured with Promarkers and the pompoms took a while and a few attempts to get right but I ended up with gift wrap ribbon which I cut in to small strips coloured some with Promarkers and left the other bits. I curled the ends with scissors and stuck them on with PVA letting each couple dry, as I found otherwise they slid out of place. I think it looks fab and am pleased with it but then again what do I know about cheer leading zilch!
