I've not watercolour painted really since at school unless you count the murals I painted on my son's bedroom walls as he went through different fads growing up. I watched Hochanda when hubby was away on business and I got the tv remote control and stumbled across Sheena Douglas demonstrating Crafter's companion aquapens and was fascinated by all the different techniques she was using. I bought some after a few days deliberation and when my son asked what I would like for mothers day he bought me another set and the rest as they say is history. I eventually bought some new stamps also demonstrated and here are the start of the results. I'm sure you will see more and become bored of them but they are just so therapeutically relaxing to paint.
This card is pretty clean and simple in design with a white square base card and an orange matt before the image layer.
The image I think could be used for all occasions and both genders too, perfect for a male birthday, good luck cards and even inspiration cards especially with the sentiment that came as part of the set.
I stamped the image with stazon and then used pebeo masking paint over the image. This allowed me to use the aqua pens with some glycerine to use as you would distress inks to create a blended background. Once the background had dried I rubbed off the mask and painted the image using the aquapens and added f clear sparkle pen overlay to add shine to the drum sides. The sentiment I love and on reflection could even be used on an anniversary card too or for anyone who is a little bit individual.
