I always feel a little sorry for anyone who has a birthday in the run up to Christmas or just after as when you try and buy cards in the shops , not that I know if this is still true or not there never use to be a vast choice as the shops are swamped with cards for the holidays.
We have a few birthdays between now and just after new year, my sisters is at the beginning of January and I have 2 brother in law birthdays , one sister in law birthday and my mums at the beginning of December. It will make a change being able to mix making birthday cards in with holiday cards.
This one I have made for my sister in law, she recently qualified as a teacher so I hope she loves this sassy girl from Sugar Nellie sold at Funky Kits as much as I do. She doesn't normally wear glasses , well I've never seen her in them so I hope she doesn't mind them and I really can't see her ever dressing this funky but it would be fun to see.
The papers are from k and co some I have had ages and the image is coloured with promarkers. I added ribbon, and gems from my stash and a little punched vellum for added texture and softness. I tried to match the image colours to that of the paper just for something a little different, as I usually just try and co-ordinate them.
Have just read on the news that we might get an extra holiday day next year for a royal wedding, won't that be great and if it's fun to watch on TV even better.
I would like to enter my card for the following challenges:-
