Simon says on papercraft planet

Simon says has a fab challenge on papercraft planet, its to create something withe colours teal, brown and cream. I decided these would be perfect boys card colours so set about making my card. I had it all set in my mind but then started to doubt when it came to teal, as I had turquoise but no teal promarker as I always think teal is more a greeny turqoise so I had to improvise. I coloured the boys jumper stripes in turquoise and then added greygreen and khaki, I think it worked quite well. I used sakura pens for his trainers and hat using brown glaze and turquise.

The layout is from Kl stampin and scrappin #19 which I turned 90 degrees anticlockwise. I used teal pearl card and dark brown card which I sprayed with tawny walnut turqoise spray from the stampman. I don't think you can tell on the picture but when it catches the light it has fab teal hints, I also used this on my base card. i know my base would have been better cream but I only has lightweight cream card which doesn't make for a good base, too flimsy, but I stamped my image on cream.

I distressed the edge of my image which is so not my cup of tea, I always feel naughty and destructive damaging the card, but I suppose it adds a little to the card highlighted in chestnut whisper dye ink. Pollycraft #35 challenge is to distress, and I know it just means the card and not me, but I do always feel a little distressed when I do distressing.

Quixotic challenges has a theme of one for the boys and my card is a boy card I think so I will enter it into their challenge too.
